Ecological Ideas

Ecology is more than just biodegradable packaging. It’s a philosophy that has been with our company from the very beginning. Eticod strives to maintain a sustainable environmental policy, caring not only for its material status but also for the surrounding environment and local community.

Anyone can print labels on ecological materials, but the most important thing is to do it in an ecological way. Thanks to innovative solutions and modern technology, we not only print ecological labels but, above all, we print them in an ecological way.

Ecological solutions

Our printing house was designed as a passive building, with the main source of energy being the heat accumulated in the ground. The vertical boreholes located on our site have a total length of over 3 km. To ensure the right climate and temperature in the company, we mainly use ground source heat pumps – currently 7 units. To obtain the highest system efficiency, we use low-temperature water capillary mats and phase change mats – most often hidden in walls, but also in ceilings and floors.

Additional support systems are ground-air heat exchangers located under the production hall and in green areas with a capacity of over 7000 m3 per hour. The entire ventilation system uses recuperators, and we use excess heat in winter to heat parking lots.

In the production hall, we have used flat panel radiators to minimize air movement and reduce dust movement.

As one of the few companies, we do not use chillers to cool printing machines, and our own 50,000W photovoltaic power plant allows us to be even more eco-friendly.

In our company, we do not have air conditioners, heaters, or traditional light sources. We use 100% LED lamps for lighting. External blinds and shutters connected to a weather station, which constantly react to the external weather situation, are a very good barrier against excessive sunlight. Thanks to a huge number of sensors, valves, and bypasses, we can maintain a constant temperature and humidity regardless of the time of day or year. The whole system is controlled by a very intelligent, proprietary control system in a mobile version and on a PC.

    Renew

    Renew labels - polymers from plants, not from crude oil

    Renew technology is a breakthrough in the packaging industry, in which traditional plastic has been replaced with biopolymers made from renewable plant raw materials (e.g. sugar cane and agricultural waste). Instead of reaching for fossil fuels, the material for these labels is made directly from biomass, which makes it possible to drastically reduce the carbon footprint of the product. By choosing this solution, you get a film with the same durability, clarity and flexibility as standard plastics, which is fully recyclable after use. It is an ideal choice for brands that want to eliminate crude oil from their packaging altogether and rely on renewable sources.

    Rebase

    Rebase labels - a second life for plastic and a closed loop of raw materials

    Rebase technology is a response to the growing problem of waste, based on the use of recycled plastics (PCR - Post-Consumer Recycled). To produce these labels we use raw material from plastic or paper packaging that has already been consumed and processed, giving it a second life.
    Instead of using new resources, Rebase relies on recovered material while keeping excellent print parameters, flexibility and the full look of the finished label.     Think thin

    Think Thin labels - maximum efficiency, minimum thickness

    Think Thin technology is a concept of slimming down labels - it consists in drastically reducing the thickness of both the film itself and the backing (liner). Instead of standard, thick materials, we use extremely thin, modern plastics that keep full tear strength and excellent print quality.
    Thanks to the lower material thickness, up to 30% more labels fit on a single roll, which means less frequent roll changes on the production line and a smoother labelling process. By choosing Think Thin technology, you reduce the total mass of plastic used, lower transport and storage costs, and generate far less waste after application.     Multicycle technology was created for returnable packaging, such as bottles or reusable containers, which go through repeated washing and refilling cycles. Unlike standard materials, these labels are exceptionally resistant to mechanical damage, abrasion and weather conditions.
    Thanks to ultra-durable films and adhesives, the label stays intact on the packaging through many cycles of use, which removes the need to apply a new label every time a bottle is returned.     Washoff

    Washoff labels - easy removal in a simple water bath

    Washoff technology was created for returnable packaging - mainly glass and plastic - from which the label has to be removed quickly and completely before refilling. The special adhesive used here loses its grip under warm water with a cleaning agent, so the label can be washed off without any problems in standard industrial washers. Unlike traditional adhesives, this solution leaves no sticky deposits or marks on the surface of the packaging, so the bottle or jar is ready for reuse right away. By choosing Washoff labels, you speed up the preparation of returnable packaging, reduce the use of cleaning chemicals and support an efficient closed loop in your business.

    Clean Flake

    CleanFlake labels - clean separation and ideal recycling

    CleanFlake™ technology solves the biggest problem in recycling plastic and glass packaging: contamination of the raw material with adhesive and label residues. Thanks to a patented water-based adhesive, the label sticks perfectly while the product is in use, but detaches completely in a hot water bath at the processing plant.
